Meriden Model 15 Pump 22 Short, Long & LR Rifle

The Meriden Model 15 was based on Savage patents in the early 20th century. The company had been set up by Sears and produced arms for its catalog sales as well as suppling branded versions to other retailers. It ceased operations in 1918 but the design of the model 15 lived on with its design features copied to various degrees by various manufacturers including the very resourceful and innovative O.F. Mossberg who started his now century-old family owned and operated company the following year. It features a 24 octagon barrel with adjustable sights, tang safety, take-down, feeds Short, Long or Long Rifle ammo, crescent steel butt plate on slightly perch-belly butt rather elegant lines overall. It retains 98% of a professional reblue while the re-lined bore is a perfect mirror with strong, sharp rifling and the nicely refinished stocks are sound with some correctly repaired cracks at toe, heel and tangs. A very nicely restored model 15 with a serial number of 105 which certainly falls in the first year of production (1912).
