H. Koon Omega III 270 Win Rifle New In Case Original Flower Mound NIB Unfired Perfect - Very Rare - Not Hi-Shear

This rifle was bought by an investor in the company who was present for the presentation of serial number 1 & 2 to John Wayne and Secretary of the Treasury John Connally at the Kaufman ranch between Gainesville and Denton Texas. Designed and manufactured by the original Omega Arms company of Flower Mound, Texas between 1974 and 1977 (its not one of the Hi-Shear produced rifles made differently in CA its the real deal). Its unique design features a fixed rotary magazine, fully adjustable trigger, both a trigger and bolt safety, octagonal receiver, a square locking lug configuration that provides much more locking mass while enabling a 45 degree bolt lift (shortest turn-bolt lift ever) and the octagon bolt body makes for an incredibly well guided and blindingly fast throw. It was designed by company founder Homer Koon who is well known for other highly innovative firearms designs as well. The 24 barrel is marked with the Flower Mound address on the left side while the receiver is marked "OMEGA III / BY H. KOON" on its left flats. The bolt body is brilliantly jeweled and the bolt knob has a band of fine knurling. The top of the receiver is factory fitted with Conetrol scope bases (the original Conetrol rings are included as well). The stock is a very nicely figured, smooth light wood with contrasting forend cap set off by a maple spacer while the ventilated recoil pad is set off by black and white spacers, the sterling silver grip cap bears a gold R in its center (as shipped) and sling swivel studs are present. But for the bright bolt body and handle all steel is a very deep, very high polish blue (even the swivel studs) and fit and finish throughout is outstanding. Its in new condition having never been fired outside of the factory and retains 100% finish with no handling marks and it comes in its original factory hard case with all papers including manual. Fewer than a thousand of these superb rifles exist (this is SN 764), are seldom seen coming to market and are almost never found in new, unfired condition. A rare opportunity that youre not likely to ever have again. Indecently; the starting price is almost exactly what these rifles were priced at back in the day, but adjusted for the miracle of central banking known as inflation (Andrew Jackson spins in his grave). If you have questions please email us at This will be listed for auction on Gun Broker the evening of July 29th.
