Springfield M1 Garand Rifle 30-06 Made 1953 Ė 57

This fine M1 Garand was made between 1953 and 1957 (SN 5806151) which is at the very top end (1957) of the rage of serial numbers assigned to SA after the war. The barrel date is 1955 so it was almost certainly original to this rifle. It has an International Harvester trigger group and HRA bolt and we didnít pull the stock to inspect the internal parts because it is bedded and we didnít want to negatively affect that (itís been used at Camp Perry by a highly accomplished competitor). It retains about 95% metal finish with edge thinning and some rack loss on the sides of the gas cylinder while the bore is ever so slightly frosted in the grooves with good, strong rifling and the stocks are completely sound with only a handful of handling marks. The butt place has some adhesive on it (used in competition) that can be removed with little effort. A very nice M1 that knows its way across the course.
