French Lebel M1886 M93 8mm Rifle Antique

This is one of the impressive Lebel M1886 M93 rifles that holds the place as the first smokeless powder military rifle. Almost 3.5 million of them were made and it was used by no less than 23 nations in wars all over the globe. A substantial piece of equipment it features a 31.5” barrel, 51.2” OAL, eight round tube magazine, magazine cut-off, rear sight graduated to 2400 meters, walnut stocks, stacking rod and sling swivels. It retains about 30% blue with fading to brown and gray patina while the bore is in surprisingly good shape with only a smattering of very light pitting and good, strong rifling (it grades at Antique Excellent) and the stocks are completely sound but look like they’ve been though a war or five. Serial numbers are mixed. A neat old guy that has done his share of fighting and would like to tell you about it over brandy and cigars.
