Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless Lemon Squeezer 32

Made from 1887 to 1940 based on the Smith & Wesson Model 2 double-action design, the new revolver incorporated an internal hammer and an external back-strap grip safety. Chambered in .32 S&W and possessed of fast reloading and excellent concealed carry with no hammer to snag on drawing from a pocket. They were known as "The New Departure" revolvers. This example is a 1st model (SN 50250) and is in really top-flight mechanical condition. It features a 3 barrel and five shot cylinder, nickel plate and contrasting deep blue on the guard bow and black hard rubber grips. The finish has faded to a dull gray on most of the frame and cylinder while the barrel is blended with brown patina while the bore is perfect; mirror smooth and bright with strong, sharp rifling and the recoil plate, top strap, forcing cone, gas ring cylinder face and bore bear no indication of the revolver ever having been fired. All serials match and both frame and cylinder lock-up are tight as a bank vault. Its not that common to find these fine pistols in this high mechanical condition. They were usually rode hard and put up wet during distressful times - but this old fella managed, at least as far as use goes, to find a gentler path than most.
