Japanese Type 14 Nambu 8mm Pistol WWII 1939 Nagoya Arsenal

This type 14 was made by the Nambu Rifle Manufacturing Company/Chuo Kogyo Production at Kokubunji under Nagoya Arsenal Supervision in April of 1939 which was Hirohitoís 14th year in power. It is free of the magazine spring modification, has 25 groove grips and the small trigger guard that would all change in December of the same year. All serialized parts have the same number except the magazine. It is a fairly even brown patina with gray highlights and some scattered pin-prick pitting here and there while the bore has even, light pitting in the grooves with shiny rifling lands and the grips are sound and have light to moderate handling marks typical of a military firearm thatís been around almost 80 years. There are some small impact marks on top of the bolt and extractor which donít seem to hurt anything but the trigger is unreliable with intermittent behavior. A fairly typical early Type 14 with all matching numbers (except the magazine), a decent enough bore and in need of a little TLC.
