Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand 30-06 Match Rifle

This is a H&R post war receiver (SN 5535400) with a Springfield Armory 1965 replacement barrel, H&R bolt, H&R trigger group housing (other components are mixed) and in a stock that bears the un-circled P indicating proofing after Arsenal Rework. It came from the DCM and into the hands of the famous NH Gunsmith; George Spaulding who did a top notch accurizing job which includes glass bedding, glued handguard/forend, trigger job and National Match rear sights and we think the bore was probably lapped as well as it is as perfect as a bore can be a bright, shiny mirror-smooth surface with strong, sharp riling (we used a Hawkeye bore scope and found a perfect bore with no degradation around the gas port). It retains about 95% of a gray-green arsenal applied phosphate finish and the stock is completely sound with very few handling marks and is so tightly bedded that we chose not to remove the action from it. A Brownells Competition Plus adjustable leather sling is in the swivels and there are several check-in stickers on the guard bow and stock from several matches that the owner did incredibly well in. He is now, alas, unable to attain the positions necessary to carry on in a competitive vein and so his cherished target driller comes to market here. Quite an opportunity.
