Winchester 1892 Take-Down Rifle 32-20 Made 1910

This 1892 Take-Down rifle was made in 1910 (SN 569620) and features half octagon 24” barrel, correct Winchester sights, pistol grip butt with stag grip cap and round logo peaked composite butt plate and sling swivels holding a 1-1/4” adjustable leather sling have been mounted. Please see photos for markings. It retains about 85% original blue with most of the loss from flaking on the forend take-down boss, thinning carry point of the receiver and face of the lever and in the distant past the receiver was drilled and tapped for scope mount and receiver sight (all with filler screws). The bore is perfect mirror; bright, smooth and shiny with strong, sharp rifling and the stocks are completely sound with thinly scattered handling marks and scratches. The stocks were refinished at some point in the past and are mostly not proud to the metal and there’s a small pinned chip repair at the top left front of the butt. The remarkable things about this rifle are the amount of finish remaining on the barrel (better than 98%) and the fantastic condition of the bore. A great old rifle closing in on the 120 year mark of its life on the planet. If you have questions please email us at This will be listed for Gun Broker the evening of October 15th.
