Remington 10-T Target Grade Pump 12 Ga Shotgun 10A

The Remington 10 series of pump shotguns was designed by John Pedersen who was one of the most prolific gun inventors of the 20th century and was called “the greatest gun designer in the world" by none other than John Moses Browning. It served in various configurations in WWI and into WWII with the U.S. Marine Corps. This example was made in 1925 (barrel code WS) and is a Target Grade which features upgraded and checkered wood, extended forend and ventilated rib (it is the first shotgun offered by the company with a vent rib). Complete features are: 30” full choked (fixed) barrel with 2-3/4” chamber, vent rib with brass bead, bottom ejection (great for lefties), take-down, inside guard safety, checkered semi beavertail extended forend, beautifully figured walnut stocks and straight butt stock with Decelerator recoil pad. LOP is 14-1/8” and drops are 1-1/2” & 2”. It has been professionally refinished with high polish receiver, satin finished barrel & magazine tube, satin finished wood and a skillfully done conversion from pistol to straight or English style butt stock. It retains about 95% blue with some hazy and mottled areas on the left receiver while the bore is a perfect mirror and the stocks have only a handful of scattered light handling marks. There’s one thin crack at the upper tang and two at the lower with another on the lower part of the right cheek and it’s not clear if these were addressed during the refinish. They all appear to be stable. Function seems to be perfect. A really interesting piece of Remington history that is very pleasing to the eye and would certainly be noticed at the range.
