Parker Bros 1896 SXS Shotgun 12 Ga Damascus G Grade

This old timer was made in 1896 (SN 83421) and is a size 2 frame, G grade with 30” Damascus barrels having 2-3/4” chambers and CYL & IM chokes, silver bead, extractor, engraved frame and tangs and checkered walnut stocks with Parker grip cap and butt plate. There’s about 40% Damascus figure evident with the rest being light brown patina while the bores have a small number of deep pits near the breech end and there are several shallow dents on both tubes and a 5/16” long delamination in the left tube just forward of the mid-point making this gun un-safe to fire with any ammunition. To be clear: the delamination goes through to the inside of the bore (see photo) rendering this gun un-safe to shoot - period! (Like all our guns; it is sold here as a collectable only.) The barrels don’t appear to have been cut but the left tube is starting to come away from the ribs at the muzzle (see photos). The frame is blended gray and brown patina as is the forend iron. The stocks are sound with light to moderate handling marks and scratches. Remarkably, it is 100% on face, lock-up is tight as a tick (with the forend removed) and the top lever comes to rest slightly to the right of center. A nice old antique Parker that will look great on the wall or serve as source of parts for guns with shootable barrels. Again: this gun is not to be loaded or fired and by bidding the buyer certifies it will not be!
