Marlin Golden 39A Lever Action 22 S L & LR 1967

The Marlin 39A is the oldest continuously manufactured rifle in the world if you consider that it began life as John Marlin's Model 1891 (used by Annie Oakley), was redesigned as the 1897, then as the Model 39 in 1922 and the 39A designation appeared in 1939. The "third variation" of the Model 39 series appeared in 1946, the fourth variation added a fluted comb, the fifth variation was introduced in 1951, and Marlin's "Micro-Groove" rifling appeared in 1953. All this "redesigning" is so slight that the rifle has been essentially the same for over 110 years with way over two million having been produced. Its remarkable durability, reliability and accuracy are due in no small part to the use of precisely machined steel forgings which distinguish it from other 22s and it will feed Short, Long and Long Rifle ammunition. It features a 24 barrel, ramped and hooded front sight, adjustable rear sight, receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts and receiver sights, take-down, gold trigger and gold filled model name, QD sling swivels and walnut stocks with grip cap and white line spacers. It is in excellent condition with 98% original blue while the bore is perfect and the oil finished stocks are completely sound with only a handful of handling marks / scratches. A truly great rifle in great condition. If you have questions please email us at This will be listed for auction on Gun Broker the evening of June 18th.
