Winchester 1903 Semi Auto Rifle Made 1930 22 W Auto

This model 1903 Winchester was made in 1930 (SN 118790). The 20” barrel bears “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PAT AUG. 27. 01. FEB. 25.02. FEB. 3,17, DEC.22.03” on the left in front of the rear sight while on the same side just in front of the receiver it bears “MOD. 03 .22 AUTOMATIC / -------WINCHESTER------ / TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF”. The receiver and trigger group both have the same serial number. The rear barrel sight is the correct 40A and the front sight is original as well.
Condition: The barrel has faded to a blue/brown blend while the bore is excellent (quite unusual). The receiver and nose cap are a nicely blended brown and gray patina. The stocks are sound with scattered light to moderate handling marks and evidence of an ancient refinish with the wood still mostly proud to the metal and the checkered panels seem to have been done after the refinish. There’s a small chip next to the butt plate on the left. The fortunate thing for these rifles is that ammunition is once again plentiful and cheap. A great old fella that has plenty of life left in him. If you have questions please email us at This will be listed for auction on Gun Broker the evening of June 18th.
