Smith & Wesson Model 36 1984 38 Special S&W Spl

Introduced in 1950 the Chief’s Special (later called the model 36) is known world-wide by law enforcement and civilians as one of the most concealable, reliable, durable and smooth functioning revolvers of all time. This example was made in 1984 (SN ADV2942 and is something of an anomaly in that the crane recess is simply marked “MOD / 36” even though it was made in 1984 which was well into the 36-1 range. It features the classic S&W deep blue finish, 1-7/8” barrel, quick draw front sight, case colored hammer and trigger and checkered wood grips with silver S&W medallions. It retains about 98% original blue with some edge thinning and a scratch or two and a thin cylinder line while the bore is perfect and the grips are completely sound with only one handling mark. Lock-up is very tight and all indications are that it has not been shot much at all. A compact, reliable, powerful and smooth operating friend to have on hand when the time comes.
