A.H. Fox Single Barrel Trap Gun JE Grade 12 Ga

Only 568 single barrel trap guns were made by Fox from 1932 until 1942 or, only 460 were made between 1919 and 1936 or 1939 depending on who you listen to. In any case they’re one of the rarest high end shoguns from the early 20th century. It bears a J on the water table, the serial number 400155 and features a 32” barrel with vent rib, 2-3/4” chamber, 0.694” ID at the muzzle, ejector, coin finished engraved frame, matted rib with mid and front ivory beads, engraved and chased barrel at breech end, very nicely figured checkered walnut stocks and Red Head ventilated recoil pad. It retains about 75% original blue with fading to brown patina, scattered scratches and scattered rust spotting while the bore is a perfect mirror, the frame is nicely blended silver-gray and light gray and the stocks are completely sound with almost no handling marks (they may have been professionally refinished). One of the vent rib pillars has some discoloration around it perhaps indicating a repair at some point in the past. The forend has some slight lateral wobble and the breech is 100% on-face with just the slightest vertical movement (almost undetectable). The Red Head pad is as supple as new. A very nice trap gun that’s a little loose and ready to be mounted by good man. If you have questions please email us at This will be listed for auction on Gun Broker the evening of April 30th.
